Alexandra Pavel
RP (Q)
I believe therapy begins with feeling safe, seen, and respected. I value creating a space where you feel supported and less alone in what you're navigating–including the parts that may feel messy, uncertain, overwhelming, or difficult to put into words.
I bring authenticity, curiosity, warmth, and humour to the therapy space. People often describe me as grounded, gentle, and easy to talk to.

I see healing as a relational process, shaped by our connections with ourselves, with others, and with the broader contexts we live within. Together, we can explore the patterns, experiences, and stories that may be shaping how you see yourself and your relationships, and move toward new ways of understanding and relating that feel meaningful to you.
Our work is guided by what you hope to see shift or feel different in your life and relationships. I integrate narrative, collaborative, and solutions-focused therapies, and also draw from emotion-focused therapy and internal family systems. With your consent, I may reflect back patterns or themes I’m noticing, and ask gentle, thought-provoking questions to support your understanding and growth. I tailor my approach to what feels most supportive to you.
I completed my Master’s in Relational and Family Therapy at the University of Guelph, where I walked alongside individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, overwhelm, depression, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, sex and intimacy, grief, chronic illness, neurodiversity, self-esteem, and identity and belonging. My work is informed by eight years of prior training and experience in psychology and neuroscience, including work with individuals living with Parkinson's disease, long-haul COVID, and individuals in eating disorder recovery.
As a first-generation Romanian-Canadian, my lived experience also shapes how I understand connection, belonging, and intergenerational trauma.
I deeply respect and value the wisdom and strengths people already carry with them, and I work to support clients in reconnecting with their internal resources and values, to help them navigate what brings them to therapy in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable. I strive to practice in ways that are trauma-informed,
anti-oppressive, culturally responsive, and affirming of people’s identities and lived experiences. This includes continuously reflecting on how my own identity and privilege may influence our work together, as a white, cisgender, able-bodied, and educated person.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to explore what it might feel like to work together.
